The Best Collectibles On Display At SDCC 2018

San Diego Comic Con 2018 has come and gone, but as it always does, it left us with some of the coolest announcements and reveals for collectibles of the year. Here’s our list of the jaw-dropping must haves from this years show.

Dark Horse Collectibles

Yes, Dark Horse in diving into the collectibles game with several of their properties from the publishing side, including Game of Thrones, Hellboy, and Dark Souls among others. But, the best of the bunch are the Hellboy 6-inch figure, GoT Ice Dragon Statue, GoT Dragonstone Gate bookends, and a MASSIVE 18″ Iron Throne.

NECA

We are pretty big fans of NECA, as they are probably the best at feeding the retro monster for most collectors. Well this year, the nostalgia was real at the SDCC NECA booth and featured various collectibles from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and the 80’s IT movie, to Crash Bandicoot and TMNT. Our favorite being the SDCC Exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990 Movie) Street Scene Diorama & Action Figure Set, featuring all four Turtles in 7″ scale.

It’s a limited edition with only 2000 sets being sold, and it sold for $250 in pre-order.

DC Collectibles

This year was basically DCtopia at SDCC, and DC Collectibles revealed several amazing new figures and statues. But, our favorites are the new BTAS figures, featuring Scarecrow, Gray Ghost, Two-Face, H.A.R.D.A.C, and Batman with Batcycle. Along with the new Justice League The Animated Series figures and the DC Cover Girls Series Mera statue.

Mondo

Mondo has been expanding it’s reach into the Collectibles world for some time, but they returned to what they do best for SDCC 2018 with this new Limited Edition Avengers: Infinity War Poster by artist Matt Taylor. And you better believe we got ourselves one for the studio.

They also debuted their new 1/6 Scale BTAS Mr. Freeze figure and it looks pretty incredible.

Hasbro

We got a couple cool new pieces from Hasbro this year, most notably the new 6-inch Legends figures Wolverine with his Motorcycle, Venom, and Carnage. As well as their new Star Wars Black Series Starkiller Base Battle Scene, featuring Rey and Kylo Ren.

Diamond Select

There was too much awesome to choose from at the Diamond Select booth this year, including a new Marvel Gallery: Jean Grey/Phoenix statue, 9-inch Dark Nights Metal statues, Ghostbusters and Nightmare Before Christmas figures, and a new line of Avengers: Infinity War PVC statues. But, it’s the new additions to their 1/2 scale busts that stood out. Particularly the Iron Giant and Animal from The Muppets.

Sideshow & Hot Toys

Always the Gold Standard in Collectibles, the Sideshow booth features some of the craziest and most drool inducing collectibles you will see at Comic-Con every year. And this year they used the occasion to announce a new line of DC Animated Series Statues that left us speechless.

But, rather than trying to choose from the litany of amazing pieces, including the Prime1 and Hot Toys pieces they feature, we’ll let you see and drool for yourselves.

MEZCO

Demand for Mezco’s One:12 Collection seems to grow daily and they had several exclusives on display at SDCC. Most notable the new Punisher: Special Ops Edition and Batman Beyond.

Gentle Giant Ltd

Gentle Giant continues to be a growing force in the collectibles market, and they showed why at SDCC with a display of several new statues and mini-busts. We actually posted a review of Gentle Giant’s recent Spider-Man mini-bust not too long ago and absolutely love it. But, it was their new Con Exclusive Darth Vader bust that caught our eye.

Kotobukiya

This is another one of our favorite Collectible companies and they had a great spread of their lines to gawk at during the Con, but the DC Comics Dark Supergirl Bishoujo and X-Men Danger Room Sessions: Storm Statues landed on our must have lists.
