Don’t Expect Another Infinity Saga-Style Crossover from Marvel For a While

Avengers: Endgame producer Trinh Tran said that Marvel will be taking a break from massive crossover movies… for now.

Speaking to Cinema Blend, Tran discussed the future of Marvel Studios, saying that they are moving away from films like Infinity War and Endgame to focus more on Phase 4 and the upcoming launch of their Disney+ series like Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision.

“Our focus right now is to make sure that the titles that we’ve released in Phase 4,” she said. “Obviously those stories are going to be new, exciting, different and can connect with the audience like the other movies have been. Over 10 years ago, it’s always been our dream to get to Infinity War and Endgame level. We didn’t know obviously where that was going to go at the start of the studio, but it’s incredible to know that we were able to accomplish that.”

Of course, the movies will continue to connect and characters will still crossover — such as Scarlet Witch’s role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Furthermore, this does not mean we will never see another massive event like Endgame again. However, Tran hinted that it could be a while before all of our favorite heroes are on screen at the same time again.

“Now it’d be amazing if we could get to that level 10 years later, so I think it’s a dream to continue doing that and build upon the MCU and the connective tissue that we have,” continued Tran. “And now with obviously our Disney+ side and the shows and how our characters are venturing into that world and how that’s gonna lead to the future and more franchises and more stories and more properties and their connective tissue to the rest of the MCU, it would be amazing to do something like this 10 years later.”

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye and Bradley Cooper as Rocket, with Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Josh Brolin as Thanos. The film is available on Digital HD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
